Why Get BAN is coming to an end

Making the decision to shut down Get BAN was not easy, even though the project was never as old or as personal to me as Get XNO.

Get BAN was created around two years ago, when Get XNO was already an established platform. The idea was fairly simple: create a similar faucet focused on BANANO and reach a different group of users. There was no complicated plan behind it. Get XNO was already running, the infrastructure was there, and creating another version for a different audience made sense.

Over time, Get BAN became its own platform with its own users, activity and maintenance. It was still closely connected to the original project, but it was no longer just an experiment.

Unfortunately, the same problems that eventually made Get XNO difficult to maintain also affected Get BAN.

One of the biggest problems was withdrawals. At some point, withdrawals stopped working because of a bug in the code that I was never able to properly identify. The strange part was that everything worked correctly in my test environment, while the same functionality failed in production. Without being able to reliably reproduce the problem, fixing it became extremely difficult.

The underlying codebase also has its age showing. It was written years ago and was not built with the standards I would use today. Properly continuing the project would require major refactoring, security improvements and changes to the infrastructure rather than simply fixing one or two isolated problems.

And then there is the biggest reason of all: I simply don't have the time anymore.

When I started working on these projects, I had much more free time and could spend hours working on them whenever I wanted. Today, life is different. I have work, family, responsibilities, hobbies and other things that deserve my time. Maintaining a faucet platform properly requires regular attention, and I can no longer give Get BAN that kind of commitment.

The earning side of the platform also became increasingly difficult. Offerwalls changed over time, the selection of good providers became smaller, and there were no longer many new options worth adding.

Fraud and chargebacks were another major issue. Because of them, I had to reduce the payout rates significantly. There were times when the money coming in from the platform was not enough to cover what was being paid out, meaning I was effectively putting my own money into keeping the project running.

On top of that, there were the regular costs of running the infrastructure. VPS and other hosting expenses continued every month, while the platform itself was not generating enough to justify those costs and the amount of work required to keep everything running.

Technically, I could try to fix everything. I could rebuild the broken parts, rewrite the old code, replace the infrastructure and look for new offerwall providers.

But at that point, it would no longer really be about fixing Get BAN. It would mean rebuilding a large part of the project from the ground up, and I simply don't have the time or motivation to take that on.

I also don't want to keep a project alive just because it has existed for a long time. Get BAN had its time, it served its purpose, and I'm grateful for everyone who used it while it was around.
